Board Games (& Wargames)
Boardgames in the shop as i type...
...or intend to re-stock immediately (or as soon as they be again available),
plus Boardgames (& some, "family" board-based Wargames) i've been advised are available (i.e. got to specific customer order)
Wargames overlap with Boardgames; but they do have their own page, which includes many games not listed below.
i literally do not know the limit of the range of games i can obtain - or even of the range of games that are currently in print! No fully reliable & up-to-date listing exists or, i suspect, is even possible (though some brave souls, such as those publishing the Greater Games Industry Catalog (successor to the Games Quarterly Catalog), do try); e-mail me v$imt$v at my sub-domain, i-m-t.demon.co.uk, for any further details you may require, including news of other games that i may carry from time to time, or can readily obtain for you. Listing includes "Variable Tile" boardgames, and also wargames, as noted in the game descriptions.
but first, a little section of games i've been advised are available, and which look like they probably are - but've not specifically been told are boardgames:

There she was, peacefully cruising the galaxy looking for strange new planets, innocently playing pool and

and other such afpish games, when POW! and ZAP! not to mention KER-RANGGG! and PTOW!, and probably ZOWIE! - The Awful Green Things from Outer Space have invaded the spaceship, and are attempting to seize control! alternate goes, the crew try to wipe out all trace of the Awful Green Things; and alternate goes, the player playing the Things has a choice: attack the crew (gobbling up crew members helps Them multiply and grow) - or Double in size!
Originally published in b+w, on thin, cut-out-yourself card, in a zip-lock bag c. 1980, which when i first carried it came with a colour-printed paper insert with the rules, then in a standard SJG booklshelf-format box, then in a massive - and massively over-priced - "long board-game" format box, when i stopped carrying it;
Now in a sensibly-sized (and reasonably-priced again!) bookshelf-format box, and includes Outside the Znutar, rules and counters for fighting on the outside of the spaceship, in addition.
Contents: 151 die-cut counters, full-colour gameboard, 5 Green dice (d-6), Rulebook and a ziplock bag for the counters
- "Axis & Allies" Games

- Axis & Allies - NEW REVISED EDITION/RE-STOCK in 26th April 2006
Classic land, sea & air strategy board war game of WWII, starting in spring 1942, when the Axis powers were at the high-point in their bid to dominate the world. This new edition adds Artillery & Destroyers to play, upon a re-designed map.
- Axis & Allies: the Battle of the Bulge - NEW GAME in 22nd November 2006
After the successful D-Day invasion of Normandy, the Wehrmacht was either on the defensive or in rout - with one spectacular exception; the Ardennes winter offensive of 1944, in which an entire army - built up without any apparent realisation or appreciation of its significance by Allied intelligence - was thrown at a quiet sector of the front only weakly defended by merkin troops being "rested" there.
With the good fortune of atrocious weather conditions, the Allies air superiority was useless - and the Wehrmacht swept aside the light defences, driving deep into liberated Europe, and heading for Allied fuel dumps and the Channel Ports.
in this trouser-leg of time the offensive was contained, by a combination of fierce resistence by merkin troops in the area reorganising themselves into adhoc units, British troops driving down from the north, merkin troops from the south, and the eventual breaking of the weather allowing the Allied Air Force to interdict movement by the German Armour: But in your replaying of this famous campaign, it will take a combination of a clear-sighted strategy, successful tactics and flexibility, as well as a little luck, to achieve your army's aim, and prove the victor
- Axis & Allies: D-Day - RE-STOCK back in 29th November 2006 ukL 32.99
Re-fight the desperate struggle to secure the five bridgeheads on the coast of Normandy, and to develop these into a defensible - and suppliable - foothold from which to liberate Occupied Europe, by capturing the cities of Saint Lo, Cherbourg and Caen; or, equally desperately, to throw back the invading Allied Armies from the beaches into the sea or, failing this, to frustrate their attempts to take the port of Cherbourg, and to so delay their advances & attempts to take Saint Lo & Caen, as to allow your Panzers & Infantry reinforcements to force them back upon themselves, destroying their effectiveness as fighting units, and forcing their evacuation or demeaning surrender, and so protecting the Reich.
