  requires the World of Darkness RPG, for play;
  escaped slaves of the Faerie, Changelings are no longer human, but rather what their former masters & mistresses chose to make of them, whether through malice, whim, or without any deliberate intent: half fae, all are able to influence the thoughts & emotions, and especially the dreams of mortal humans, and all have a degree of Glamour within them that may be spent or lost, and regained, in a variety of ways, (though the five sample characters for the introductory adventure know only how to harvest Glamour from human emotions), and to a variety of ends. Changelings live in a world to which they no longer properly belong, in a web of mists and deceits partly created by them for their own protection, under the constant threat that their Faerie Keeper might at any time come through the Hedge between the Worlds to reclaim them, and return them to slavery; or the Fetch left behind in their place could come hunting them, seeking to take their place in the world...
  there is safety only in their network of friends and allies, bound by oaths and pledges - and when one's whole existence is a lie, who can trust others?
