    * - n.b. does not include the other players, not even in kit form: you must supply at least two friends to play this with.

  • Sheoloth: City of the Drow New title in 21st August 2003 hardcover ukL 29.99
255pp (+ licences p.) volume covering the entire city of the dark elves in its vast cavern complex, "a skeleton of stone wrapped in tortured flesh and clad in robes of woven silk."
Populated by one of the most viciously violent and depraved races in fantasy, Sheoloth has been expanded slowly, over the ages, as one by one caverns have been opened up and enlarged, or painstakingly chipped out of the native marbles and basalt, with pillars left intricately carved in decoration, or smoothed to a fine polished finish, the better to show off the beauty lying within the natural stone - at a price paid in blood.
Werelights, flickering corpselights, wander the streets, especially in the less well-travelled streets, where poverty-stricken foreigners cluster together - for warmth, or mutual protection?
A place of great, if sometimes strange, beauty; of great cruelties, both straightforward and subtle; of harsh discipline, and simultaneous chaotic violence; Sheoloth is a home created by the drow for themselves, very much in their own image.
Adaptable to any existing campaign, usable as the centrepiece of, or the - sometimes safe - haven whence may commence many an adventure, whether pitting players' characters against the evil rulers of the Underdeep, or hiring them in furtherance of their plans for conquest and destruction, or involving them in the feuding and politicking between the rival drow elf noble clans.
Written by Sam Witt; illustrated by Chad Sergesketter, Eric Bergeron, Philip Renne, Tony Parker, & Alejandro Villen; cover by Chris Quilliams & Anne Stokes.

  • Waterdeep: City of Splendors New title in 29th June 2005 hardcover ukL 19.99

Waterdeep; Undermountain, the greatest dungeon upon (well, underneath), the whole continent, and the Dungeon of the Crypt lie below the city's streets & sewers, promising the lure of untold riches - and, rather more certainly, the chance to encounter many deadly mosters; Skullport, its dark shadow below, exerts an irresistible magnetic attraction to all involved in illicit goods and dark dea[r]lings [a]; ancient feuds divide both the city's nobility and its guilds, whilst the Arcane Brotherhood of neighbouring Luskan constantly seeks ways to weaken its hated southern rival, and the Churches of Selune and Shar have little or no compunction over using it as a battleground for their rivalry, and the Shadow Thieves of Amn are just one of the groups seeking to overthrow the secretive Lords of the City, having once been driven out of Waterdeep by them... and inland, its untamed hinterland also awaits the adventurous - and the foolhardy - seeking their fortunes.
[a] - tea prrofreading if his bonk wis nut prefect...
Waterdeep was founded by Illuskan and Tethyrian settlers on a plateau first settled by the elves of Illefarn, and later tunnelled under into a veritable honeycomb by the shield dwarves of clan Melairkin; it remains a predominantly human city, though nearly every intelligent race may be found within its walls - or below it.
Intro; The City of Splendors; People of Waterdeep; Prestige Classes; Waterdeep Locales; Adventures in Waterdeep; Monsters of Waterdeep; Heroes & Magic. written by Eric L. Boyd with Ed Greenwood, James Jacobs, Steven E. Schend, Sean K. Reynolds

Adventures set in the World of Greyhawk

An "Adventure Path" of adventures for characters starting out on their rocky road to - whatever fate may hold in store for them... Playable without possession of the Living Greyhawk Gazetteer, though using this can add appreciably; but n.b. these appear to be a "traditional D&D first adventure", aimed at at DMs & players with no previous role-playing gaming experience, whose main interests are in combat & their characters' personal enrichment, and the consequent rise in their powers and abilities as they rise in level; there is little emphasis upon improving character role-play skills, or even anything to make possession of these skills necessary through the first three adventures.
It seems from customers' reports that the level requirements *and* the size of the party might to advantage both be halved by DMs with parties of players possessed of more than a very little exposure to adventuring.

Thieves' World - Campaign Setting

  • Thieves' World Players Manual New title in 24th August 2005 hardcover ukL 20.99
Sanctuary is the armpit of the empire, the seediest city in the world. Other cities have fallen from days of greater glory; what makes Sanctuary unique is that, having lost its reason for existence when it was conquered and lost its own empire, it completely failed to invent another, legitimate role in its conquerors' - if there is an honest person living here, outside of the small detatchment of troops responsible for maintaining order, if not law, in the place, it's probably only because they're too young to leave the cradle. If you enter Sanctuary, you are entering a veritable Thieves' World.
Intro; "A Tale of Two Cities" - by Lynn Abbey; Welcome to Thieves' World; A Sanctan Primer; Cultures and Backgrounds; Character Classes; Prestige Classes; Skills and Feats; Supplemental Rules (Massive Damage; Severe Injuries; Reputation; Reputation Checks; Contacts); Equipment and Resources; Sorcery (an entire new system appropriate to the ways magic is presented in the world of Sanctuary); Spells; Gods of Sanctuary; Character Glossary; Index
    Requires use of the D&D 3rd/3.5e Player's Handbook, above);
Written by Lynn Abbey, Gary Astleford, Patrick O'Duffy, Robert J. Schwalb
    • Murder at the Vulgar Unicorn New title in 28th September 2005 ukL 11.99
A suden and seemingly random murder in the Vulgar Unicorn puts the heroes (well...) freedom and perhaps their lives in jeopardy; clearing their names immerses them in a plot involving biological warfare, the Maze and the Swamps of Night's Secrets, not to mention Dyareelen cultists, diseased swine, assassins... written by Owen K.C. Stephens, this extended adventure may be relocated to any suitable city (such as Freeport, or Lankhmar, etc.); but the intended atmosphere should be maintained, for fullest effect upon the players & their characters. Thirteen (!) side-adventures & encounters are included, together with typical NPCs, five pre-generated Level 1 Player Characters for beginners &/or a fast-starting game, maps, hand-outs, hints & suggestions and descriptions, including two and a half new monsters.
    • Black Snake Dawn New adventure available 13th June 2007 ukL 8.99
when the party answers Molin Torholder's call to investigate the disappearance of a visiting noble's daughter, they've no indication of the depths they must plumb, into webs of intrigue and a quagmire of corruption
      adventure for 9th level characters

The Magazines for Dungeons & Dragons RPGs were:

  • Dragon which was monthly & the general rpg magazine for D&D 3rd/3.5th ed., now under new management and new ownership; as, likewise, is
  • Dungeon, which became a monthly 'zine (it was formerly, and for many years bi-monthly), contains scenarios & adventures for D&D 3rd/3.5th ed.

Links to Dungeons & Dragons RPG world Novels:

IMT also carries much Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 2nd Edition RPG system material, including many adventures, that are convertable for use with the new d20 system.
Hasbro-Bradley, Wizards of the Coast's owners no longer supply these, and u.k. wholesalers no-longer have these, so my stock of them will - inevitably - only shrink, now.

Dungeons & Dragons 3rd Edition RPG & 3.5 are built around the d20 system which Wizards of the Coast make available to other rpg publishers under their so-called "open licence" scheme: games that share this system as their sole, or as their designed alternative, core system, but are not necessarily part of the Dungeons & Dragons universe of worlds, are indexed in the D-20 RPG Index, as well as upon the main role-playing games list (and as well as being linked to above, when i've remembered to list them here... - if i've missed one, please let me know).
