from DCC #53: Sellswords of Punjar, a level 1 adventure,
Master Dungeon #1: Dragora's Dungeon, the first "Master Dungeon" series level 1 adventure for experienced gamers,
(and the Character Codex) - all available 10/17th September 2008 -
the Dungeon Crawl Classics series of adventures, and also the Lands of Darkness series, are described by their publishers as being Ready for Fourth Edition or 4E GSL
["GSL" refers to third-party D&D 4E Adventures and Sourcebooks published under Hasbro/WotC's GSL terms and conditions - ppint.]
Wizards/Hasbro's purpose-designed pre-painted plastic miniatures are well-suited to this - and also have stats and (simpler) rules for a miniatures war game, as well as stats for D&D 4E; if only they weren't mostly marketed in the "randomized boxes of collectables" format...
IMT also carries much
Dungeons & Dragons 3rd Edition RPG system material, including many adventures and sourcebooks, that are convertable for use with "4E" system, being already based upon the d20 System, plus a fair stock of
Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 2nd Edition RPG system material, including many adventures, that are convertable for use with the d20 system.
(Hasbro-Bradley, Wizards of the Coast's owners, no longer supply these latter, and u.k. wholesalers no longer have them, either, so my stock of AD&D RPG books will - inevitably - only shrink, now.)
Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition RPG is built around a somewhat altered d20 System, not compatible with the D&D 3 or 3.5 Edition RPGs; Wizards of the Coast/Hasbro make^W made the D20 System available to other rpg publishers under "OGL," their so-called "open gaming licence" scheme: games that share this system (but are not necessarily particularly "4th Edition friendly") as their sole, or as their designed alternative, core system, but are not necessarily part of the Dungeons & Dragons universe of worlds, are indexed (linked-to, if they have their own pages; listed here, if they do not) in the
D-20 RPG Index, as well as upon the main
role-playing games list
[GSL, which is being touted as the 4th Edition equivalent of OGL, promises to be far more restrictive and i'm doubtful that any sane rpg publisher already producing OGL material will seriously consider also publishing under the rules of this GSL as originally made public - indeed, according to the wording i've seen, they will not be permitted to continue publishing new or existing d20 material under the OGL if they take up GSL and start publishing "third party" adventures for 4th Edition [n.b: i am not a lawyer: but it'd seem highly desirable to consult at least one lawyer before doing aught more than contemplate taking up a GSL project].
Joel has kindly provided his [now-htmellicised] typewritten review of D&D 4E and running two sessions of Into the Shadowhunt, the Launch Day Adventure, by arrangement with IMT.
