- the magazine for the Dying Earth RPG is The Excellent Prismatic Spray: as noted above, issue 1 comes free with the rpg book. i don't currently stock other back issues, but will happily obtain those in print and available to customer order: e-mail me at v$imt$v at my sub-domain, i-m-t.demon.co.uk (written out to reduce harvesting spamlist webcrawlers)
The Dying Earth RPG is based upon Jack Vance's sequence of fantasy stories and novels based in his eponymous world: the four books were originally published in book form as The Dying Earth and The Eyes of the Overworld;
then came an extended break, in which Michael Shea wrote the authorised Dying Earth novel, A Quest for Simbilis;
after a while, Vance returned to the world with Cugel the Clever & Rhialto the Marvellous.
i stock the omnibus of Jack Vance's four Dying Earth books,
Tales of the Dying Earth,
new, and copies of the now-out-of-print individual volumes (including Michael Shea's A Quest for Simbilis novel, usually secondhand in vg or better condition, as and when i'm able to find them; and also other titles by him;
Also well worth investigating are Barrington J. Bayley's novel, The Garments of Caen; M. A. Foster's Morphodite Trilogy; and Fritz Leiber's Fafhrd & the Gray Mouser Series - all of which would be readily mineable for highly mannered worlds, frequently inordinately convoluted plots, baroque settings and stylish villains, and intriguingly obscurantist adventure :-), especially the Bayley and the Morphodite trilogy.
