Corum/Elric/Melnibone/Stormbringer RPG
Core Books
The name of the rpg set in Michael Moorcock's Multiverse has changed back and forth a number of times over the decades,
and there's a completely new title for multiverse rpging with the D20 System book...
- Hawkmoon RPG - New rpg in 27th June 2007 hardcover ukL 20.00
first in this cycle of the Eternal Champion rpgs, set in a far future where science and sorcery do battle
see also the full Runequest RPGs listing;
but this is a complete, self-contained rpg rulebook, using the Runquest system, and based upon Michael Moorcock's Eternal Champion fantasy novels
- Stormbringer 5th (current-but-out-of-print) Edition First Printing May 2001 ukL 24.99
"Dark Fantasy Roleplaying" - well, yes; for the doomy, gloomy and truly magnificently despondent:
in the context of a creation-wide contest between the gods (and demons) in whom the forces of Law and Chaos are manifest, the opportunities for heroes and acts of heroism are matched only by those for opportunistic betrayal, inspired evil - and sheer insanity.
rpg book written by Lynn Willis, with Richard Watts, Mark Morrison, Jimmy W. Pursell jr, Sam Shirley, and Joshua Shaw, plus David Mitchell, Charlie Krank, John Snyder et al.
n.b: new copy, but with small (c. 0.5" across) triangular crease top fly corner of front cover, fly & title page
- Dragon Lords of Melnibone D20 System (was ukL 14.99; out of stock)
- Elric (this rpg book is out of print & out of stock)
it has been replaced by the Stormbringer RPG above, which is now in its fifth edition; and by:
- Elric of Melnibone RPG - New rpg available 18th July 2007 hardcover ukL 20.00
the eldritch* isle of Melnibone is the citadel of the greatest empire in history, now reduced to just this rotten core - but a core with powerful defences - and teeth! - nevertheless; across the seas are the Young Kingdoms, eager to destroy what is left of Melnibone, and seize its wealth - and magical powers, and knowledge - if they can; but they are equally avid to fight one another, and crafty alliance-making and breaking has helped keep the Isle of Melnibone unconquered...
Sail the Seas of Fate, in a demon-haunted world where mighty dragons rule the storm-wracked skies, and the Price of Dreams is higher than mere Rubies and Emeralds; perhaps walk the streets of fabled Elwher, steal tomes containing arcane lore from the Sorcerors of Pan-Tang, suffer great hardship and survive many adventures, crossing the Sighing Desert, and maybe find eternal Tanelorn...
(and see Hawkmoon & the other rpgs based on avatars of Michael Moorcock's Eternal Champion)
[* - no, not "oblong" - thank-you very much, terry *g* (honestly, what hope has a poor purveyor of fantasy sf & horror, when you can crack people up with a one-word footnote like that?) - ppint.]
